Beatology Brand

Every once in a while I’m granted a lazy Saturday whereas I can sit back and do absolutely nothing. But after going back and forth on SnapChat with Lissa from Beatology Brand we decided to have a impromptu shoot at my spot with Lauren since we all were in the mist of a lazy Saturday.

Since we’re working with very and I mean very limited space in my dining room / home studio space I decided let’s use the white wall and a two speed light setup. I pointed one Yongnuo YN-560 II Speedlight Flash at the wall to blow it solid white and another Yongnuo YN-560 II Speedlight Flash in a silver umbrella camera right from where our model will be and I used 3 PocketWizard Plus III to trigger everything. For the camera I pulled out my Nikon D800 with a Nikon 50mm f/1.8D which based on space was my best choice.

Once Lissa converted my kitchen into her makeup station and got started on Lauren’s makeup I metered my settings as I always use my flashes in manual mode, this is so once our model was ready I can get shooting and work with her on poses and not spend time tweaking. Once the model was ready I got her on set and took about 20-28 exposures and even managed to get Lissa in a few shots. This session resulted in quite a few good images but it’s the fun ones with Lissa and Lauren in them together that I’m sharing with this post.
